Home title monitoring

Know when something new is recorded on your home.

Every night we compare new county recordings against your property. If a deed or other document is recorded on your home, a person reviews it and we let you know by email, text or phone.

What we watch

What home title monitoring covers

  • Deeds and ownership transfers

Grant, warranty and quitclaim deeds — the documents used to move a home from one owner to another, including forged ones.

  • Changes to the owner of record

Any new recording that lists a different owner than the one you confirmed with us.

  • Loans recorded with a transfer

Mortgages recorded as part of a sale or transfer — a common pattern when someone tries to borrow against a home they don’t own.

  • Corrections and re-recordings

Re-filed or corrected documents on your parcel. Usually harmless, but you should know they happened.

How it works

Where the data comes from

Sources
  • County recorder data from a national property-records provider, loaded every business day.
  • Your baseline: the current recorded owner of your home, which you confirm in your portal.
How often we check
Every night, against every new recording that came in that business day.
What an alert tells you
The new recording side by side with your baseline — document type, date, the names on it — plus a plain-English note from the person who reviewed it, and what to do next if it wasn’t you.
A person reviews every alert
A person on our team reviews every alert before it reaches you. Then we contact you by email, text or phone — whichever you choose — and you acknowledge it in your portal.

What it can’t do

  • No one can stop a county from recording a document. We make sure you find out quickly so it’s easier to fix.
  • Counties take days to weeks to make new recordings available, so we see a document when the county publishes it.
  • We’re not a law firm or a title insurer.

Questions about home title monitoring

What is home title monitoring?

Your home’s ownership is recorded at the county. Title monitoring watches those public records and lets you know when something new is recorded on your property — like a deed transferring ownership. If it was you, great. If it wasn’t, you find out in days instead of months.

Can you prevent fraud on my home?

No — and be wary of anyone who says they can. Counties record documents that are submitted to them; no monitoring service can stop a filing. What we do is make sure you know quickly, so you can act while it’s easiest to fix: contact the county recorder, law enforcement, and a real estate attorney.

How often do you check?

New county recordings come into our system every business day, and we check every monitored property against them every night.

What happens when I get an alert?

Log in to your portal and you’ll see the new recording side by side with your baseline, plus a plain-English note from our reviewer. Tell us whether it’s expected. If it isn’t, we’ll point you to the next steps — the county recorder, local law enforcement, and a real estate attorney.

We’re not a law firm and don’t provide legal advice, but we’ll make sure you know what to do next.

What does “Length of Home Ownership” mean?

Pay $250 once and we monitor that property for as long as you own it. No renewals and no price increases. When you sell, just let us know.

Is this available where I live?

We monitor properties across the United States. In the rare case we can’t cover your county, we’ll tell you and refund you in full.
