Listing monitoring
Know if your home is listed for sale or rent without you.
Scammers list homes they don’t own to collect deposits from would-be renters, or to find a buyer for a home they plan to sell with a forged deed. Vacant homes, second homes and rentals are common targets. A fake listing usually appears before any paperwork is recorded, so it can be your earliest warning.
Why it’s worth it
What listing monitoring does for you
-
An early warning
A fake listing often shows up before a forged deed is recorded. It can be the first sign someone is trying to sell or rent out your home.
-
Peace of mind while you’re away
A second home, a rental between tenants or a parent’s house can sit empty for long stretches. We keep an eye out while you can’t.
-
Stop it before others get hurt
Catching a fake listing early keeps strangers from handing over deposits, or buying a home that was never for sale.
What we watch
What listing monitoring covers
-
For-sale listings
Your address appearing as an active listing for sale, with the price, the listing date and the agent or company that listed it when available.
-
Rental listings
Your address appearing as an active long-term rental listing, a common scam on vacant homes and second homes.
How it works
Where the data comes from
- Sources
-
- A national real estate listings data provider that collects for-sale and rental listings across the U.S.
- What an alert tells you
- That your home appeared in a new listing, whether it’s for sale or for rent, the price, the date it was listed and who listed it, when the listing includes them. If you listed it yourself, just tell us it’s expected.
- A person reviews every alert
- A person on our team reviews every alert before it reaches you. Then we contact you by email, text or phone, whichever you choose, and you acknowledge it in your portal.
Good to know
- We see listings that reach the national listing data we use. A flyer, a social media post or a private ad may not show up.
- The first check sets your starting point. If your home is already listed when you sign up, we show it in your portal but don’t send an alert for it.

Questions about listing monitoring
What if I’m selling or renting my home on purpose?
Then you’ll get one alert for your own listing. Tell us it’s expected and that’s it. We alert you about new listings, not the same one over and over.
Does a person really review every alert?
Yes. Nothing is sent to you until someone on our team has looked at it. Routine changes that don’t need your attention are cleared, and the rest come with a plain-English note.
Can I buy this on its own?
Yes. Listing Monitoring is $4 a month or $40 a year per property, on its own or added to any of our other services. It’s also included in the Ultimate package.
I already have an account. How do I add it?
Log in to your portal, open your property, and add it there. It’s billed on its own monthly or yearly subscription, which you can cancel anytime.
Can I cancel?
Yes, anytime. If you’re not happy in your first 30 days, we’ll refund you in full.
