Free deed copy

Get a free copy of your deed.

Enter your address and we’ll pull the most recent recorded deed for your property. Some deed images aren’t available from the county. When that happens, you’ll get a Property Title Report instead, showing the ownership and recording history on file.

Which home is the deed for?

Free. We search public county recording data.

What you’ll get

  • The most recent recorded deed for your property, when the county image is available
  • Otherwise a Property Title Report: who’s on title and the ownership history on file
  • Document number and book/page, so you can order a certified copy from the county if you need one
  • An emailed copy, so it’s there when you need it

It’s a one-time snapshot of public county records, not a title search, title insurance, or legal advice.

How it works

  1. Step 1: Enter your address

We find your property in county recording data. It usually takes a few seconds.

  2. Step 2: Confirm it’s yours

Tell us it’s your home (or that you’re authorized) and where to send it.

  3. Step 3: Download it

Your deed, or a Property Title Report when the county image isn’t available. We email you a copy too.

Common questions

Is it really free?

Yes. No credit card and no trial that turns into a subscription. We ask for your email so we can send you a copy. If you later want us to keep watching your home, that’s a separate plan you can choose, or not.

Why might I get a report instead of the deed itself?

Not every county makes deed images available electronically. When we can’t get the image, we send a Property Title Report built from the recorded data: who’s on title, each recorded transfer with its date and sale amount where reported, the document number, book and page, and the title company.

Is this an official or certified copy?

No, it’s for your own information. If you need a certified copy (for a court or a lender, say), your county recorder’s office can provide one. The document number and book/page in your report make that request easy.

Where does this information come from?

County recording data, gathered in one place: the deeds and transfers that are filed with your county recorder and are public record. It’s a snapshot of what we have on file today. Very old records may not be included, and your county recorder’s office holds the official record.

What will you do with my email?

Send you your results or, if we couldn’t match your address automatically, a note from our team once we’ve looked it up. Tips about protecting your home’s title only come if you tick that box. We do not sell your personal information.

How is this different from title monitoring?

This is a one-time look at what’s recorded today. Monitoring checks new county recordings against your home every night, and if anything new is filed, a real person reviews it and lets you know. $250 once covers your home for as long as you own it, or $7.50 a month.
